What exactly was the pastor trying to insinuate by all those repelling explanations?

But really, I’m totally sure of the credibility of all he said during the message, sha.

I want to please God! even God knows that I love Him.

But, it seems like He is fierce and harsh. How I wish to tell someone how I feel!

Have you ever been under a powerful and heart-piercing ministration and you felt like, “This is a hard saying, who can hear it?”

You are not alone, my dear.

John 6:60;
“Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard this, said, this is a hard saying; who can hear it?”

Even Jesus’s disciples were, at a point, in your shoes. And it caused a good number of them to cease from following Christ.

Interestingly, the twelve remained(John6:67,68) We can take after them. It has to do with our level of sincerity and openness to the Holy Spirit.

Come to think of it, do you expect something that is full of living power, sharper than the sharpest knife;(the KJV translation puts it this way- “sharper than any two-edged sword) something that cuts deep into our innermost thoughts and desires and which also exposes us for what we really are to be pleasant?

And that’s what the word of God does. Hebrews 4:12;

Imagine someone being operated upon in the theatre; let’s say he was not given an anaesthetic pill to enable him to fall into a deep sleep, what do you think the expression on his face would be like?

Not at all!

The same thing applies for the word of God.

Many times, I’ve felt that way too. But, through lessons from friends of God in the Bible, such as David and Abraham, I have learnt to be sincere in my dealings with God.

So in such moments, I cry to God in sincere prayers telling him how hard it is for me to obey His word; how hard it is to prove my love for Him.

And usually, not too long from that time of prayer, I begin to see grace in manifestation.

That’s the reason Ephesians 2:8 says
“For by grace are ye saved through faith, and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”

So, my dear, the next time that feeling comes, tell it to the Holy Spirit; express yourself exactly how you feel and tell him to give you the grace to obey.

In a short time, you’d see the manifestation.

Yes! It can be a hard saying, but with the help of the Holy Spirit you can hear and obey it.

How has God helped you to cope with situations such as this? I’ll be glad to hear from you.
